Hello! If you’re reading this, you’ve come across my path somewhere. Maybe you’ve read my film column, or maybe you’ve met me somewhere and been forced to hear me go on about the book I’ve been working on, or the screenplay I’ve been writing. Or, you know, maybe you were misdirected by Google. Life is funny.
In any case, I’m glad you’re here. Please use the links above to learn more about me and my work. If that
sounds kind of boring, I don’t blame you - but you might enjoy the page called “Stuff I Like,” my gratuitous celebration of everything from Ghostbusters to the guy who spends his time making life-size dinosaur sculptures out of Legos.
You may be thinking, "if this girl wants to be taken seriously as a professional, why would she include a big list of childish stuff she loves on her webpage?" Well, first of all, I never want to be taken too seriously. Ever. If you go back
|
through history, taking oneself too seriously has caused humankind nothing but pain. And second, I like Lego dinosaurs. I like knowing that there’s someone in the world whose entire job it is
to build - yes, life sized - dinosaurs out of Legos. Because if someone can have a professional gig as a Lego
sculpturist*, then is it that far of a stretch for me to get paid for my writing?
And finally, I’ve included that stuff on my site because, well, that’s just the kind of girl I am. After all, if the true measure of a person is how he or she reacts to the things that happen to them, then surely part of us can be revealed by how we react
to the strange quirks of life, as well.
And besides, if you’re an agent or editor and you choose not to work with me because I dig Lego sculptures, well, we really weren’t going to get very far, anyway. |
